GROWERS voluntarily recalls pistachio products from shelves.

Manila, Philippines (April 2, 2009)--- Due to recent developments in the United States regarding safety issues on pistachio nuts, we at GROWERS, are implementing a voluntary recall of our GROWERS Salted Pistachio Nuts from the Philippine market. This took effect on April 1, 2009.

We are issuing this recall as a precautionary measure. We are still waiting for an official response from our U.S. supplier to our inquiry dated, March 31, 2009, regarding this matter.

We have also started salmonella tests internally and through an independent lab accredited by BFAD to determine if our salted pistachio nuts are indeed affected or not.

We at Growers strongly believe that our first responsibility is to our Customers who have trusted us for over 45 years. We will continue to honor that trust by giving them what they deserve—safe and high quality products.
